Mr. Ismail Ali is African Liaison for WSG. He holds a Masters in Computer Science, and is an IT specialist, systems engineer, programmer and consultant.  He brings to WSG his experience and relationships with senior government of the nations of the Horn of Africa, and his personal understanding of the people and cultures of Somaliland, west Africa, and his passion for improving the world status of his home-country of Somaliland.

 

Ali is currently Senior Consultant for CGI Technology & Solutions, a company that provides applications and systems engineering and IT outsourcing for the City of San Diego, California.

Ali served as Lead Programmer Analyst for General Dynamics Technology Division which provided computers and systems engineering solutions for the Department of the Navy, during 2005-2012.

 

He worked as a Senior Software Engineer for Northrop Grumman in 2003-2005 where he designed multitier applications in various Department of Defence systems and solutions.

 

From 1985 to 2003 he worked with several IT companies and organizations in the United States, including senior positions such as a Senior Computer Scientist. He received a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1985, and an M.S. Computer Science from Oklahoma City University in 1993.

 

Ali grew up in Djibouti and Somalia, Africa and at the age of 19 moved to the USA to pursue his university education.

 

For the past 35+ years he has lived in the USA and currently resides in San Diego since 2012.
